MLB Power Pros 2008 was the last one made in the United States. The rosters are two full years out of date and virtually impossible to update. The game was made in Japan last year by its parent company, but was not brought here.

The original Power Pros game was released in 2007 at the end of the season and the 2008 game came out around the All-Star Break of 2008. Releasing a baseball game at the end of the season can't be good for sales nor can coming out with a 2nd version less 10 months later, but well after the season started and other games had been released.

The Power Pros games are by far the best baseball game to come out for the Wii, but for the life of me I can't figure out why 2k didn't release one last year when they put out that awful Baseball Blast.

Yep.... Not even close. I'm playing it on the PS3 though(2008).
I made updates to the roster via the arrange mode to get it as close as I could. Game is top notch as far as stats and managing your players.

MLB Power Pros 2008 is one of the greatest baseball games ever made. Think of it as a cross between RBI Baseball and All Star Baseball, but refined. So obviously not a pure simulation but it's got some of the elements and brings the fun. I just can't recommend it enough. Seriously, go buy it and thank us later.

I would say if this is for kids, Power Pros might actually be a little deep for them. If it's just for them to screw around and have fun, I'd just go with MLB 2K9, since it incorporates all the motion controls that kids love.

If this is for you, however, then ya, Power Pros for sure.

grabbed mlb power pros at gamestop today...used copy for $17.99 (plus my member discount). played it a little tonight with my son - VERY good game!
