The Bigs 2 vs MLB The Show

I can understand that this may seem a bit of a strange comparison question, but I'm a bit conflicted on this one.

The Bigs 2 is arcade baseball, while The Show is pure simulation. I'm not a huge baseball fan, but I still enjoy playing the sport.

Which game would you recommend and why?

I would recommend The Bigs 2 if you are more of a casual player/fan. The Show may be a bit overwhelming and difficult, possibly making it no fun for you.

If you are looking for some pick up games just to play some ball 2k12 might be an option just to play the MLB Today. This feature mimics the real life MLB schedule and match-ups giving you dynamic commentary and ratings based on what actually happened during a game or series. Just a thought!

Re: The Bigs 2 vs MLB The Show

I ended up renting The Bigs 2 and MLB 11 The Show over the weekend.

While The Bigs 2 had its strong point, I ended up buying MLB 11.

Road to the Show, as well as the updated rosters were the big selling point for me. It will be nice to have the rosters as up-to-date as possible before the season starts, so that I can start a season or franchise and keep that going for a while. No need to drop the $60 on MLB 12 if I don't need to.

I may look into getting The Bigs 2 down the road, as an alternative, to have something different around.
