Games with unusual modes/features?

I was just reading the feature article about indoor mode in FIFA 98, and it got me wondering about similar things in baseball games.

For any kind of franchise, career mode, and even exhibition games, I play The Show. What I'm looking for is not games that do something mechanically different necessarily, but ones that provide a different experience.

Two examples:

-The N64 Ken Griffey games have a cool and (as far as I know) unique hitting interface, and it's super fun to do home run derbies there.

-MVP 05 has the batting and pitching minigames, which I've enjoyed.

Any other games I should check out? Could be from any era and don't need the MLB licence. General idea is that I want it to be recognizable as baseball, but not a "regular" game. Thanks!

Did a little digging myself, so for posterity:

The N64 Griffey batting interface does indeed appear to be fairly unique, at least if YouTube is any indication. Besides the mini-games, MVP 2005 also has the stadium creator mode, which is also interesting.

The only other thing I found was All Star Baseball 2003 and later had an expansion mode, which looks pretty neat. If only Rochester was on the list of cities!
