Ok...ID2003 Vs. 2k3

Which is really better? I had 2k2 and loved it. Then when this year rolled around all the magazines and web sites rated 2k3 as the better game, but here people seem to favor ID. So which is really better? What is IDs franchise mode like compared to 2k3s?

This issue's been discussed. Go look at previous posts.

Bottom line is whatever floats your boat - both games excel in different areas.

Re: Ok...ID2003 Vs. 2k3

Almost 20 years later I can still say without a doubt that Inside Drive 2003 was the better game. I really miss the Inside Drive series. Graphics were ok but the gameplay was this games bread and butter, honestly it felt and looked like real basketball. Sure the animations are date now but they were great back then and even some look really nice today. I really liked how the game highlighted milestones. For example the first 100 points/assists, 1000 points, # of triple doubles, etc. Also I don't recall other games listing player accolades before this game, like how many championships, mvp's, defensive player and other awards/achievements. It was the little things on top of the amazing gameplay that made this game a unique experience at the time. I really wished it was still around and that even games today would do some of things Inside Drive did so well.

I also love the 2K games been playing them since Dreamcast, actually since NBA Action on Saturn. But I wished that 2K had some real competition. A game like Inside Drive would've been a good contender today.

As for NBA Live. I've also enjoyed NBA Live but I feel they have been very inconsistent. My favorite Lives are 96, 98, 2004, 2005, 2010 and 2019. I hope they make a comeback cause I feel 2K is getting too greedy and laxing a bit in innovations.

Re: Ok...ID2003 Vs. 2k3

2k3 played repetitively every game
ID pioneered the player tendencies and was the better game by far in 02 and 03
Can't remember if ID 04, then it was gone
2k4 was bad
Live o4 and 05 were better than 2k
2k6 forward was the better game with 2k7 being pure crack at the time

2k Favorites for their time were 07,08,11-really good, 14(computer version with all the teams that were created was crazy), "ultimate" rosters had just about every team in the history of the nba available

2k 15-21 have been meh for me with all the VC additions

Some nice association ideas but there are always never-ending bugs
