Re: DDS College Basketball 22 Career Thread

So despite guys being at each others throats all season, we won the regular season and conference tournament, got a 6 seed in the NCAA Tournament won the first round game against Pepperdine and lost in the second round to Memphis to finish 27-9 for they year. A great season on the court for UC-Santa Barbara in the Big West, a nightmare one off of it.

I was offered the Villanova job, was really tempted, but that's a destination job and I have other ambitions. Expected 5 players to transfer, it was only 4, but the 5th will leave after the next season for sure. One of the transfers was a 3 year starter. I replaced those guys from the portal with guys who seem to be better and nicer, so we'll see how this season goes.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

Re: DDS College Basketball 22 Career Thread

#4 Kentucky defeats South Carolina in what was the most entertaining game so far this season.
Final score, 91-83. Kentucky improves to 17-3(6-1)

South Carolina dominated the first half. 3 of Kentucky's starters were in foul trouble and the Gamecocks took advantage. At one point, in the first half, South Carolina led by 17. South Carolina led at the half, 46-34. Some of Kentucky's bench had to pull a lot of minutes in the first half and just couldn't keep up. SR PG Henry Strong led Kentucky in the first half with 12 points and had it not been for him Kentucky's first half would have been abysmal.

Second half, Kentucky's starters were determined not to get into further foul trouble. There wasn't another Kentucky foul from a starter until around the 7:00 mark in the second half. In that time, Kentucky would cut the lead down to 1 before letting the Gamecocks gain a second surge and eventually put the lead back up to 8 around the 6:30 mark. Henry Strong once again turned on some brilliance along with SR SG Jason Winter and JR C John Gentry for Kentucky to go on a run and have a 13 point turnaround so Kentucky could have a 5 point lead with 2 minutes to go. The Gamecocks had to start fouling and once again, Kentucky would show their excellency in free throw shooting, only missing one free throw down the stretch. With that, Kentucky was able to pull out the win to avoid a 2nd loss in a row. Kentucky finished with 27/32 from the FT line (84.4%)

Player of the game was Henry Strong with 21 points (3-5 from 3)(6-6 on FTs)
Jason Winter added 15 points(3-3 from 3)(4-4 on FTs) and 4 assists in only 20 minutes
John Gentry finished with 11 points (3-4 on FTs) and 4 rebounds in 17 minutes
FR C Darrell Deren would lead Kentucky in rebounds with 8
FR SG Chris Abel would lead Kentucky's bench with 8 points (3-4 from FTs) and 5 rebounds

Next game is at home against Arkansas(13-7)(3-4). Kentucky is a 10.5 point favorite.

Unfortunately, #4 Kentucky would suffer their 2nd loss in the last 3 games, losing to Arkansas at home, 76-74. Crazy game, back and forth the whole way. 25 lead changes and 17 times the game was tied. The game went down to the wire with Arkansas making a tip-in lay up off of a missed free throw with 4.3 seconds left to take the lead. SR SG Jason Winter attempted a last second heave for the win but missed.
Kentucky falls to 17-4(6-2)
Next game is at Missouri (11-8)(3-5) Kentucky is an 8 point favorite.
In their previous matchup, Kentucky won at home in a blowout winning by 28 points. FR SG Isaac Greenberg lead the way with 13 points and FR C Darrell Deren led in rebounds with 10.

Kentucky is not doing so well, but they will be fine, I am sure.

Re: DDS College Basketball 22 Career Thread

And #4 Kentucky loses to Missouri. Final score 67-81, Kentucky falls to 17-5(6-3). Kentucky had 21 turnovers and played poor defense. Missouri was 58.6% from the field. Gotta try to change some things up to hopefully turn things around.
Next game is a home game against Auburn(10-10)(4-5) Kentucky is a 17.5 point favorite.

I don't have stats, but the Radford road woes continue as they lose to Campbell. Campbell moved to 3-23 after the win. Yes, Campbell had 2 wins on the year before Radford came to town.

Re: DDS College Basketball 22 Career Thread

#4 Kentucky defeats Auburn in a home game, brutal game...final score, 64...to 28! That's right, Auburn scored 28 points in 40 minutes. 13 points in the first half, 15 points in the second half. Kentucky improves to 18-5(7-3)

Auburn went 9-50 from the field (18%) 2-13 from 3 (15.4%)
I turned up the man to man and clearly that worked on defense. Offensively, we didn't do great ourselves
Kentucky went 23-60 from the field (38.3%) 9-22 from 3 (40.9%). We shot better from the 3 than from 2.

FR SF Mike Cunningham was Player of the game with 14 points(4-8 from 3) and 7 rebounds
JR C John Gentry added 10 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 blocks
SR PG Henry Strong added 12 points(2-4 from 3)
JR PF Tyson Braun led the bench with 7 points and 6 rebounds.

Next game is at Ole Miss(13-8)(6-4) Kentucky is a 4.5 point favorite
