Casey Printers wants to sign a long term deal

I heard him on the radio yesterday and I'm a little bit suprised he wants to sign a long term deal (assuming a 2 or 3 year deal) with the Lions. He's the reigning MVP of the league and has one year left on his contract. I thought he would play next year than bounce to the NFL. I'm guessing he did this to so he can force Buono to decide if Dickenson will be traded or not. There's no way the MVP of the league should be the backup. He notices other CFL QB's that have gone down to the NFL without much success (Burris and Ray) and I think he wants to play in the CFL for several seasons like Moon before jumping.

He also announced a football camp for kids April 1-3. He's also throwing a party and a celeb basketball game for charity. He really enjoys the city of Vancouver.

He mentioned he's sent out a bunch of invites already to:

CFL: Damon Allen, Joe Monford, Anthony Cavillo, Khari Jones, Henry Burris, Geroy Simon, and Ryan Thewell

NFL: Bobby Taylor, Ken Hamlin, and Aaron Glenn

I know Printers played with Tomlinson in college so I wonder if he's going to try to bring him too.

It really seems like Printers is a class act. I'm also surprised that he wants to sign a long term deal with the Lions. I guess he wants to do everything possible in the CFL before taking a crack at the NFL.

He's only 23 years old.

In the interview when asked about the NFL, he said it was a goal of his but said the NFL isn't going anywhere. He said he still has room to really improve his game.
