What was better Madden or ESPN NFL 2K

Well as many of you know ESPN's NFL 2Kseeries is gone, which was better, why was it better I am curious to know.

ESPN NFL2k5 was better. Reasons?

1) Commentary

2) Customizable Stadium Music

3) Running Game (Intelligent Blocking)

4) Player Models

5) Graphic Overlays

6) Cut-Scenes

The only things that leap to mind that were glaring negatives were:

1) Elimination of OTFPC

2) No Playoff-Specific Atmosphere

3) No Switch To Blocker Option

4) No Commentator Emotion for Close Games or Playoff Implication Games

The fact that our noob chose to post this particular question in the ESPN forum makes me doubt that he's simply looking for impartial opinions.

Hmmm, Vader, it seems your list of negatives only include things that are always on your wishlist but have never been in ANY videogame.


I'll add choppy transitional animations (though many many MANY animations.)

Poor stat generating engine

I agree whats done is done so theres no need to rub salt on the wound thats just being plain mean spirited.

I'm sure this topic has been beaten to death so if anything a few words showing some kinda appreciation for the series being as good as it was would be more cival because the series is no more for now so let in rest in peace and let "Sleeping Dawgs" lye we will see it again just when nobody knows but the series memory will go on amongst the fan faithful as in some peoples opinion being one of the best and ground breaking sport video games of all time....it went out on "Top" and a "Winner".

In the end its all been said and done so theres really no need to rehash and open closed wounds there are enough threads and postings already to get opinions about the series demise...like I said just let sleeping dawgs lye and the game rest in "Peace" its been through enough already so enjoy whats still here until the exclusive deal runs out.

I think 2k series was better. I have been a 2ker from the dc. I loved that series. And I know alot of people won't see it but they improved their game a whole bunch every year. In fact Some will agree that it has caught up or got ahead of madden. However, vc/sega sports didn't touch on a few issues. that madden fans loved. STATS and AI. Yeah that's a lot of the game but I think if they worked on that Alot more people would have 2k5 in their houses. But if you really look at it how long has madden been around? Then ask yourself how long 2k football has been around. They made progress leaps and bounds above ea sports and whether you agreee or not that's your opinion. I think if 2k football had a few more years then it would be the household name. Even Ea sports felt the heat so they just ate up the rights..... Now I learned madden and even enjoyed it. It's now in Ea's court to make the changes every year because they have so much pressure on them. Even though they have a HUGE following they are the only game in town. We will soon find out if Ea sports is up to the challenge with Madden 06. Truthfully I think they are working hard instead of adding gimmicks!!!!....
