CFL Free Agency begins

Pretty weak FA class. The bigges name is Jason Tucker. It looks like the Ti-Cats will be major players this off-season. They're the front runners to sign Jason Tucker, Barrin Simpson, and Josh Ranek.

The Lions are targeting Keith Stokes.

This is the final year of having no "cap". I expect to see a lot of front loaded contracts given out.

Bad news for my Leos. Jason Tucker resigned with the Esks. Barrin Simpson signed a 4yr deal with the Bombers.

Josh Ranek signed with the Ti-Cats. I wonder if the Gades still want to take a run at Jesse Palmer.

Ranek will do well in Hamilton. I don't know if Lumsden will make the squad in KC but if he doesn't then the Ti-Cats could have an embarrassment of riches at that position.

Lumsden signed with the Redskins.

If Lumsden gets cut, it will be interesting. I'm sure Lumsden wouldn't want to be a FB in the CFL and they just spent a lot money signing Ranek.

Re: CFL Free Agency begins

darn yes the Redskins. I think Gibbs may give him a real shot unlike Seattle.

Thanks for the correction.

Re: CFL Free Agency begins

For the handful of us that follow the Canadian game here are some notes:

Report: McCallum set to join Lions

How ironic Is the BC kicking situation that bad?

and the bigger news story of the day:

Argos sign Keith Stokes

I guess this means bye bye Bashir Livingston. Stokes is a damn good returner and can help out in the passing game as well. He should be a great fit in Toronto.

Great signing by the Leos. I could do a better job than Duncan O'Sucky. I was hoping we would get Stokes but the Argos got him. I wouldn't mind getting Livingston but he's been complaining about not being used as a WR. The Leos are already stacked there so he wouldn't get the playing time he wants.

Looks like the Argos are taking full advantage of not having a enforced cap this season. I've read reports the Leos and Argos had the biggest payrolls last season.
