CFL Draft

http://www.cfl.ca/index.php?module=C...splay&ceid=936

I listened to Braidwood this morning and he seems like a great guy. He's a local kid. His agent told him he might be a late round pick for the NFL Draft. If not, he's a priority FA. The CFL is obviously a fall back option for him.

He said the football/student life isn't all that great. He had to spend 2-3 hrs a night doing homework and needed his parent to help him out financially since he couldn't work except during the summertime.

The Esks took a risk taking him number one considering he might not ever play for them. The Argos drafted Nick Kazur last year and I doubt he will ever play in the CFL.

This jumped out at me "The Montreal Alouettes used the seventh overall pick on wide receiver Eric Deslauriers. The Gatineau, Quebec native played three seasons at Eastern Michigan and still has one year of eligibility left. He had his best season in 2004 when he finished fourth among all NCAA Division I receivers with 84 receptions for 1,257 yards and 13 touchdowns. In 2005, he caught 76 passes for 887 yards and eight touchdowns." Those are pretty impressive numbers.

Re: CFL Draft

Braidwood was pretty good at Washington St. Should be a solid contributor. Interesting to see how Fantuz does. Same with Birungi

My boy Derrick Armstrong went in the 5th round, and of all places my hometown Calgary...Should be a fun summer if he sticks.
