so now you truly cant show how powerful you are or how crappy the other team is because youll be worried about the score.

nice job.

why not call off the game if youre that crappy?

The funny thing is that they voted against the running clock. I wonder if they will do the same for basketball?

Re: Connecticut HS adopts anti-blowout rules

My uncle coached Griswold up until two years ago. He was basically forced out so the AD could hire his buddy, but that's another story.

He said in the game Griswold lost 90-0, is was as much their fault as New London's. They were going for it on 4th down on their own 10, etc. New London was playing their 3rd stringers and still scoring at will because Griswold kept giving them the ball. Basically the only way for not to score would be to kneel 4 straight times, which I think would be more embarrassing than getting blown out.

Some states, including Iowa, continuously run the game clock in the second half if a team has a 35-point lead. The Connecticut committee rejected a similar proposal because members thought it would unfairly cut into backups' playing time.
I think not allowing the backups to score is even worse.

Re: Connecticut HS adopts anti-blowout rules

its definetly gonna be a pick your poison type of game for some powerhouses. they may now start giving more balls to certain players so recruiters can notice them. those "seven" touchdowns may be looked at as oppurntunities for some players where as it should be just about winning and getitng the ball to the open guy. and if the score were 7-57, they may let the other team score without trying to get their offense back on the field to showcase those players.

i mean, i guess its better than calling off the game of the score has a margin of 60 because then, you couldnt see ANYBODY play.

why not just tell these teams to get better or not play in the ct hs league. lol
