Amen brother!

We could say the same exact thing about MVP Baseball vs 2k Baseball.

It's time to move on.

Counter-point: no they don't.

There. I said it. And I'm glad I said it.

are we really surprised?

That doesn't prove anything personally to me.

It's just an opinion nothing more and nothing less. There are probably plenty of guy's like myself who don't even bother voting in regards to stuff like this you posted.

So that might have a negative impact on the overall votes if a guy perhaps prefers Madden over 2K's footaball games but nevfer voted on the matter.

But to each of his own I'm sure 2K guy's will enjoy their last effort footabll game for the next 5-10 years. While Maddden guy's will continue to play an existing version each year.

So, these types of votes IMO are meaningless because I'm sure not many people go checking for polls or surveys to express their opinions on game. I know I don't bother looking or responding.

Yeah, EA does have a monopoly in producing NFL licensed football games if we look at the definition of the word.
No, any company can still make a football game. If EA had a true Monopoly it would have been broken up long ago..

Another one of these types of threads, and it makes you wonder why the 2k baseball forums aren't overflowing with posts complaining about how crappy that game is compared to MVP 05 and how thats a monopoly and such. Perhaps the reason is that MVP 05 has a deep enough dynasty mode to keep you interested until now.

I normally would get into the Madden vs 2K5 debate since I hate EA and think that Madden has and always will be pure and total crap.

But instead, I'll just say this -

I just saved a whole bunch of money on football video games by staying with 2k5 and simply updating it via Finn's editor.

On a related side note, Finn's editor has added more features to a two year old obsolete 2K5 then what EA has added to Madden the last two years which I must say is very sad but at the same time, very funny.

EA - buyout everything
Madden - same crap, different year

This also sums up why Jon Robinson is a moron and an EA whore like the rest of them. He could have used an Action Replay and downloaded updated rosters for NFL 2K5 and "had a football game" last year and this year, too.

You still do have a choice. NFL 2K5 with the OS Community rosters and your favorite slider settings is still an amazing, current game. Oh, and it's $1.99 used at EB or Gamestop.

It's industry-inhaling lemmings like Jon Robinson who cause people to think that a sports game has an expiration date and is nothing more than the virtual version of curdled milk the instant the next year's editions of sports games are released.

Robinson is part of the problem, not part of the cure. An idiot.

Take care,
