If you were the NFL, what would you do?

You gave EA a 5 year exclusive license and here's a company that may make a generic game and you don't get a penny from licensing fees. What do you do:

A. You get your legal department to do whatever they can to prevent 2K from publishing such game.

B. You go back to EA and tell them that once the 5-year deal is over, you're going to go with non-exclusive licensors.

C. Do nothing and leave money on the table.

If they're smart they don't do anything. We know they won't fight a generic game because they don't care about Blitz being released.

I would be scared with how much time 2k has had on this game. I'm feeling its going to hurt Ea

Its not gonna do ANYTHING to EA, until they actually make a game.

Actually they do care. They care in the point they don't want nothing to do with the game. Numerous remarks have been made by the NFL toward Midway. But nothing regarding that is is generic though.

But yeah, I sit tight and do nothing.

Why? You think the average Joe's out there who make up about 95% of the gaming public are going to buy a generic football game over Madden, which has become a household institution.

2k had a hard enough time denting EA's marketshare when they had a better game, and a complete license. Now adding a game with no licensing, after they've been out of the market for a few years, would take a miracle to even be a blip on EA's radar at this point.
