Could Tecmo ever happen again?

I think a Tecmo like game would work on the Wii.

TSB was a great game. The best part is that you could invite friends over and teach them the basics in 2 minutes. While I have been gaming all my life, my 30-something friends have not been so dedicated since college. When I try to get them over these to play a modern day game, they get frustrated and quit after about an hour.

I thought TSB II and III that appeared on the Genesis weren't as good. They added complexity which took away the game's charm. Games went from 20 minutes to 40 minutes and they had some awful backgrounds that made it difficult to read the stats that were so nice and simple in the original game.

I would absolutely love to play Tecmo Bowl/Superbowl with updated rosters and 360'ish graphics. I think that would be complete sickness. With the exact same gameplay as before with 4-8 offensive plays and all.

I agree. I would just like them slightly tweak the gameplay to eliminate some of the glitch tactics ...like diving in with the D-Lineman. Also, while the game wouldn't need sliders, it would need some skill levels.....as opposed to the players record determining how good the CPU is.
