IFAF World Championship on NFL Network

I have no idea what the IFAF is, but here is the US Roster. Apparently it is the World Cup of American Football, though there are no NFL players on the roster.

I know these guys are scrubs and I know John Mackovic is an idiot, but how is it possible Japan could be leading 10-7 in the third quarter.

I know US came back and won in overtime, but Japan is a good team. This is the first year the US had a team in the American Football World Cup, and the previous three all were won by Japan.

I watched this as well. Japan were very disiplined in the way they play. They ran
the spread offence very well and when you consider the USA team was only together for 2 weeks it makes sense why it was so close.

I heard that the US team was told to coast through. Japan puts up ALOT of money for this event, and the US organizers didn't want them beating them 77-0 like US had other teams.

well the major sponsors were Japanese, but I don't think that's true.

I mean, did you watch the game? The Japanese played very well and to me it didn't look like we were purposely coasting through.

Even so I have a strong suspicion that any higher echelon college team would have beaten Japan by 30+. Contrary to their small college accolades, that US team was awful, and probably a little bit of an embarrassment to call themselves Team USA.
