I think that each of their sports titles only get 3-4 months of time spent on them. Take the exsisting game from the previous year , tack on a few extra features , and call it a day.

Nothing has been done in a long time to make me think otherwise. Both companies are guilty of this currently.

Its not like the stadiums change year to year...sure ..maybe 1 gets an addition or something, but nothing major.

The uniforms dont change for the most part..., even if they did..its just a pallette swap.

Player models dont change either.

Neither company has updated their commentary in over 4 years, so it sure cant be that.

Presentation is non exsistant, so it cant be that either..

So just tell me, what do they spend their year doing? Thats why I believe the dev cycle for each yearly title is less than 3 months. People will buy the game regardless...no need to waste money improving.
I'll venture to guess that you have never touched software development am I right?

I know it's not a full year that the game gets worked on, because it's finalized a month before release, then the month after you are still doing stuff post-launch with the game. Plus this is probably a popular time for most of the dev team to go on vacation.

The players models were completely different this year, so you have to re-do models and every jerseys and accessory

NCAA has some added stuff. I remember reading about Corso and crew being at EA to do it

Madden is guilty on this. No reason not to have the save highlight feature

People are just expecting to much out of a sports games on next gen. You can only do so much more then you could on last gen. It's games like BIOSHOCK, which is on it's way to being the best reviewed game of all time that shows off the next gen power.

Re: Next Gen Football...Puu lease

I haven't played a sports game that was really wow'ed me yet.

SO I can agree, but I have played a few other next-gen games that have...BioShock demo, I remember Fight Night, and more recently...Skate. which is suprising because I just DLed the demo just to play it and the physics are pretty nice...

Nothing has really got me saying WoW with Madden though. The Graphics are good but gameplay and feature wise...what's new?

I hear PES 08 will have dynamic A.I. that realistically adjusts to what the player is doing...

What about the NBA Live next gen E3 demos a few years back... remember "The Players have brains now..." no they don't.

So I do want some next gen features and improved physics...

TRUE: Paying 300,000,000 bucks for NFL Exclusivity was not at all price effective.

The more I think about it, you may be correct. What are they doing that takes a year to complete if each year only shows a few new improvements, and even more glitches? Apparently they do not spend more than a week testing the games.

Most of us on these forums can create ideas about the game in less than a week, and could find all of the glitches in a game in less than a week. Although I am sure that it is a difficult process, It does make you wonder - how much time do they really work on the game.?.
