It's not at all bad, but none of them are bad. They are very early though, that is for sure. I'm certain that almost everything that is visible is placeholder really. This was put together much more for the sake of testing the animation and collision detection. I think the main point is to have collision take place on the surface of player models, instead of some predefined sphere of influence or given articulation point. There is a lot of math going on here, no doubt.
