Greatest football game ever?

I am going to go with Tecmo SB as well. I am basing this on the level of available technology at the time, and other console games of the era. Tecmo was the first console game to my knowledge to have licensed players and teams. It was the first to track stats. And it was the first were CPU teams played each other and teams went through their normal 17 week schedule. Beyond that it was easy to learn, and played a pretty good game of football. It was a huge jump from anything before it.

I got 3. NFL 94 Sportstalk with Joe Montana, NFL 2K5, APF2K8. Honorable mention: Mike Ditka Power Football--JK, lol.

Easily for me it is the Football Pro Series. I've said it before and I'll say it again, even though it has been 11 years since Sierra put out a quality game, it was still ahead of where EA is today in almost every area but graphics.

front page sports football and nfl2k5, frontpage was definitely ahead of it's time, and games have yet to have some of the features it had i remember being able to watch all the games that have been played, i actually still have 98

I think this a tough thing to settle, but I'd have to say the NFL 2K5, with all that game was/is, has to be one of the best games to date.

What that game offered was a very finished feel that did a great job of representing the sports and its peripherals.
