Re: Greatest football game ever?

Tecmo F'N SuperBowl!!! Still the greatest and most fun game ever. From the cinema screens to the way the ball bounced around on fumbles, the most fun I've ever had playing a game in my life. This was the game that taught me the sport of football. They are finally resurrecting the game after a long hiatus and I have dreams of playing this game one day soon again. Please Tecmo whatever you do keep the same winning formula of the past. I can't wait for Tecmo Superbowl 2008!!!

NCAA 2004 (most played game ever) and Madden 2001 for PS2.

I must have played 10 seasons of Dynasty/Franchise mode in both of those games.

Joe Montana Football 94 was the game. I purchased the sequel with joe montana 95 but it just was not as good. The graphics were worst, they took out the cool play by play guy for text play by play and they got rid of the HUGE team specific playbook that was there the prior year. My friends and I were so dissapointed! What was cool was in this version was there were free agents and you could move players to different teams, positions and keep the rosters current. In the original Montana 95 cartridge you could not move teams (must have been a rom thing you guys are talking about).

I LOVED that game. I can still hear the play-by-play dude's voice.

Re: Greatest football game ever?

As far as console gaming goes, it would have to be Tecmo Superbowl. To me, it was just the most fun I've ever had playing football. Not difficulty levels or sliders to fool with. You just took the game at face value and had fun.

I do feel that those Sports Talk Football games were ahead of their time.
