Jesse Lumsden, Olympic gold?

Hamilton Tiger-Cats RB Jesse Lumsden could very well participate in the 2010 olympics on the 2 man bobsled team.

He just one 1st in a competition alongside veteran Pierre Lueders
If this keeps up, he'll be on the team for sure and have a very good chance of winning in Vancouver.

Jesse is a great running back, 6'2" 225lbs, - throughout his career he's had some unfortunate injuries, but I think he really should have been in the NFL as a 2nd running back on some team. Most teams probably don't want to take on the injury rist though.

Anyway it would be cool to see him participate on our olympic team.

Jesse Lumsden couldn't sniff an NFL practice squad...best of luck to him in 2010, but a good NFL running back he is not.

sure he is if he wasn't injury prone. He's the best in the CFL and worse rb's from the cfl have played as 2nd rb's in the NFL.
in fact if you look at his wikipedia it shows his list of injuries and they played a role in his release from washington and seattle.

He wouldn't have made it, look at the RB's in Washington and Seattle during Lumsden's short career. He wasn't even drafted by an NFL team, and I remember him getting bitch slapped in practice during the East-West Shrine Game. He showed up at the game tho, and he's still fun to watch in the CFL...but he never had a shot at the pros. Even Healthy...

I've seen him play quite a bit, and all I'll say on the nfl subject is that I can name players in the NFL that aren't as good as him. An example of someone who used to start; lamont jordan- if he was in the CFL he couldn't produce what Jesse does on a per-game basis. I won't argue that he should have made the seahawks or the redskins, but I'm just saying he's better than some nfl back-ups on a pure athletic/talent level. I know if he was on the colts instead of kenton keith, he would have probably produced on the same level. that's all I'm saying. I could bring up a bunch of other players 2nd or 2rd rb's in the nfl who aren't as good. The injury issue is his BIGGEST issue by far - that's why the recent issues with the tiger-cats happened.

That's kind of cool, the Olympics from what I hear is a great experience. I would like to see Jesse Lumsden get his chance in the NFL but if a team has not jumped on him by now I doubt they will.

oh I agree, I doubt anyone would bother at this point. It would be a great story though if a cfl running back managed to win in the olympics for bobseld. And it will make it more interesting to watch the event. My girlfirend already has a ticket to fly out and watch the games, so maybe she will see it live.
