i truly believe people who can live like myself without the NFL license are people who LOVE the sport of FOOTBALL. what it represents, the effort it takes to play at a high level, the rules, and of course the violence.

for me if JOE SMOE team of generics(apf 2k8, backbreaker) plays football at a high realistic level than the whole AFC east(madden) then ill watch and play with the JOE's

Backbreaker will be released. I would be surprised if it is not released sometime this football season (probably Jan or Feb of 2010) or at the very latest in the summer of 2010.

There is a great interview that was just posted in this forum that details the effort being put into BB.

I hope it is. I've been awaiting it's release since I saw the first videos on it a well over a year ago. I just hope they include some bells and whistles and not just a bare-bones game.

I would buy it. This is the first year in a long time I want to try madden, but overall EA has f'ed up football gaming. Bring on backbreaker (although I can't imagine it having a good franchise mode). Bring on Black College Football. Whatever it takes to give me a good football game. I still play college hoops 2k8 even though all the college players I knew are gone. This games situation wouldn't be much different.

Dude I'd be all over APF2K8 if it did not have the pro's. It just seems wierd. A generic game would be fantastic, they could probably have monster hits, and sick injuries, and the players could get into off the field trouble, because the NFL can say nothing. Man this game would so rule. Kinda like that pseudo NFL series that ESPN had out a while back.

Re: Would you buy a football game....

Havent read through the whole thing (a little much) but responding to the question, yes i would. If its a game where i have fun, i sure will buy it. Mainly, im hyped on BB and have been since early 2008 . dont need the nfl rosters imo, but it is fun playing with my favorite team and stuff, but i can always edit player on BB.
