No UFL thread?!?!

Minor league baseball is successful despite running concurrent with MLB. UFL can work. I think that is what they want to be. A feeder for the NFL.

That's because Minor League Baseball is part of the MLB umbrella. Teams have their own minor league squads and it's completely, unquestionably a feeder league.

With the UFL, it's not affiliated with the NFL in any way. If the NFL took the UFL under their wing and said, "OK, you can be our feeder league", then it would unquestionably work. The NBA even has the NBDL for things like this. When you're affiliated with the big leagues, you don't have to make a ton of money to survive. You already have the financial backing.

The problem is that it's NOT affiliated with the NFL, and just looks like it's own independent, not-up-to-NFL-standards league. That hurts it. They're going to have to make enough money on their own to keep going. I don't know that they can do that.

Agree on all points, but nothing is stopping them from eventually having some sort of partnership. They just have to tread water until then.

I think it is a decent enough product. Just has zero exposure thanks to DirecTV and Versus Networks spat.

I'll tell you one thing... after hearing that the UFL's Title game will be called "The Championship" coupled with the bad team names and ugly uniforms, I am now 100% convinced that the same people who designed APF 2K8's stuff did the UFL's as well

UFL needs to consider scrapping their plans to play right now and wait until February. The NFL scouts are not going to waste their time on this league right now, if it was in February-April, they could at least have the time to travel to these games.

^^^ I'm sure they're getting game tapes, plus they have 4 former NFL Coaches to get data from. The UFL was designed to be very NFL friendly... and the NFL is being very friendly with them since they don't have to put a dime into the league but are yet able to get their lower-end players developed.

they also said after the season any player may go to the NFL and this league is set up if the NFL has a lock out when the collective bargaining ends next year
