Stinks not having Choices!!! One Nfl game

I rented Madden because I was curious. I played Madden hardcore in the 90s until Nfl Gameday. Loved that game!! Was torn the next year between it & Madden but went with Madden. It was good & stuck with it until 2001. Then 2k came to ps2 so I rented it out of curiosity. Loved it! Minute the qb dropped back & planted his foot I was hooked! Just loved the feel of the game. So stayed with it until 2k5. Even then I just updated rosters & kept playing. I have no dislike of Madden at all!! I rented it once in 07 but didn't care for it. Even today it's not a bad game but at $60 I expect great!

Madden 11 is decent from what I've seen. May still buy it but I'm also thinking of buying Apf 2k8 for $4.99. Neither game really satisfies me. If you combined elements of both you'd have a game! I hate not having competing NFL games. I always try both NBA games & go back & forth. Just wanted to whine a bit. I'm still undecided as to what to get.

Played some Backbreaker & it has some really qualities. Every game out there has big flaws though.

+1 Most 2K fans (or Madden Haters) want to blame EA for having exclusive rights to the NFL, but its the NFL who makes that decision.

Its there product and if they didnt want an Exclusive License they wouldnt have one. They probably make more money with the exclusive deal then they did when we had Madden and 2K making games.

Personally, the more NFL games the better, competition brings out the best in everyone.

I may have little success with this but I email the NFL, telling them to take the NFL license away from EA. I made the subject under the NFL store because anything not pertaining the website itself won't be read. NFL is selling Madden 11' at NFL shop so why not?

Do you really think that letter is going to do anything? People still love Madden and that's all the NFL wants.

Sadly, I see the NFL staying with Madden till the end of time. I find it ridiculous that anyone would think otherwise. The quality, or lack thereof matters little. Madden will always sell well enough to make the NFL happy. I credit EA's marketing, of being in your face 24/7. It is a travesty for gamers who want a choice, but gamers don't matter. Making money does.

When does the contract end? 2012? If Madden's sales keep falling, I don't know if the NFL will stick with them. The NFL is obsessed with exclusive deals, but they're more obsessed with money and if two companies were allowed to make games, that would equal more sales than now and could potentially earn more money for the NFL than when one company pays them for exclusive rights.

If sales keep falling, my hopes keep rising a little bit.
