What ius Franchise Mode was scripted for NFL Games?

What if, instead of spending all this time trying to get sim stats and all these thousands of pieces to work together to make it work they simply scripted it.

Take something like GTA for example. You play the game, you play through the story, then you try and get to 100%. What if they scripted out like 10-15 franchise "stories" and you play it out.

Admittedly, im sort of shooting from the hip so there are things I havent flushed out yet such as how do you allow the player to control roster mpvement of his team and still have the story stick to it.

It just seems like every year Madden has sim issues and does all these things like add this, which screws up that. I am thinking like what the heck, make it a "story mode" with key cutscenes and TV shows,etc. For instance, instead of having everything sim out and see what happens, which really hasnt worked yet, have some pre determines things like stats, standings,etc and have the player determine his own destiny.

Just an idea, im sure there are holes but maybe a different approach is necessary until the technology exists to really have sim stats dynamicly play out.

While it's a game of exaggerations, what you are describing was done with Blitz: The League. You were a bit player in an overall story the game was moving along game to game.
