Could 2k football make a return on mobile devices?
To my recollection, EA only has exclusive rights to the NFL on PCs and consoles. It would appear so considering EA's Madden is accompanied by various other NFL licensed games on iOS and Android devices, including Natural Motion's own NFL Rivals which is nothing more than a licensed version of Backbreaker.
Couldn't 2k feasibly repurpose the old 2k football engine for a mobile device port?
Considering mobile gaming growth, 2k's more recent presence in the mobile market (see NBA 2K12 on iOS etc.), and the much lower cost of entry for the mobile market wouldn't this be an ideal place for them to test the waters?
I'd love to have a simplified version of NFL 2K5 in my pocket at all times that I can play while the wife shops or when I'm on my lunch at work, and after playing around with NBA 2k12 and Backbreaker on iPhone I am convinced quality sports games can be made for today's mobile devices.
