Really doesn't make a lot of sense and isn't really reasonable.

He says that after 'speaking to some 2k people' there may be some kind of 'timed exclusive' allowing 2k to release a NFL2k within 3 months of the release of the last Madden of this contract.

If there's more to it than that someone post it, I can't stand listening to the wannabe internet celebrities for all that long.

What I got from it was that for a lump sum of cash, 2k would be able to release a NFL title three months after Madden has released. I'm guessing it would be a yearly thing throughout the duration of the exclusive deal. In other words EA says that they can make a NFL game as long as they get a three month head start every year, since most folks get disillusioned/bored with Madden after a few months anyway, it could backfire if another studio steps up and makes a great game. Since EA is getting paid from the competition just for the right to compete, I would say that they still are still winning and the fans win because they get a second option. Question is, what other game maker is willing to take on that type of financial risk? Your already in a hole from the start by paying off the competition just to make the game, then you have to hope that the game is good enough for folks to purchase instead of Madden? Should be interesting if anyone steps up for it.

I don't buy a word this guy says anymore after all the hype he put behind NBA Live. But, I think if the opportunity presents itself, 2k would be foolish to not jump on it. The NFL is too lucrative to ignore and they'd have an opportunity to really put a stranglehold on sports gaming.
