NFL Street Pickup game player selection

Has anyone else noticed that the pickup game randomly selects who is available to play?

Yeah, makes it kind of interesting. I've played about 20 pick up games and only last game did was Jerry Rice available.

It makes it interesting, but I kinda want to have a particular player sometimes. Maybe he is shy and doesn't want to come out to play as often.

If you gave me the choice I'd like to have full roster control with the ability to edit players and to play in a league format, especially a round robin or elimination tourney.

What kind of players do you guys usually pick up?

1st Pick: Look for any Legend Players if there are none I usually pick up the best DB Available.

2nd Pick: I usually pick up the next best DB. (These guys double up as my WR)

3rd Pick: RB

4th Pick: DL

5th Pick: DL (These guys double up as my OL some guys do a pretty good job)

6th Pick: QB

7th Pick: If there are any good coverage LBs I take them.

I am a defense oriented guy. I figure if I can stop somebody twice I have a good shot at winning.

So far I don't have a strategy for picking during the pickup game. I've only played the pickup twice, I've been playing the NFL Challenge. I just pickup whom looks to be fun to play with. I'd probably pick defensive players like you do, cause in my NFL Challenge team I've developed a team that tackles well and runs the ball well.
