Fun Game. I won my first matchup 24-21 surviving a run call on 4-16 at the 16 that put me ahead and a failed Hail Mary attempt by my opponent.

Very entertaining game. The "risk-reward" factor for big plays when you're running your offense is well complemented by having to save big plays when on defense.

I just got beat 16-10 in my second game as my Offense sputtered.

Hats off to you Bill.

Thanks, man, I really appreciate it! And I'm still working on the game to keep improving it.

Thanks! There's going to be a big update in about 4 weeks that will add quite a bit of content and additional game balancing. So there's lots of work going on behind the scenes to keep improving the game. Thanks for playing, you guys!

Re: Gridiron Solitaire, Anyone Check This Out?

Hi Guys!
Hey, version 1.1 just went live. Lots of additions and new content.
1. Kickoffs have been added (using NFL data as the foundation for distance/return)
2. Penalty cards have been added
3. Punts now use three tiers of field position to determine distance and returns, also using real NFL data.
4. Revamped offseason AI (CPU now can have one of eight possible team strategies), and a new offseason news ticker (for coaching and team style changes)
5. A new "big image" presentation system
6. Revised gameplay balance on offense rewards balanced playcalling.

There's much more, but those are the big items. I hope you get a chance to try it out--it's much improved in terms of in-game strategy.

Really cool game. Any chance an update allowing the user to edit team ratings before beginning a league could be done?

Matt, you can do that in the teaminfo.txt file (which is inside your league folder in the MyDocuments directory). The file is comma delimited, and if you look at the grade ratings for a team, you'll pretty easily see the five fields that represent ratings (they're converted from letters to numbers, but it's easy to figure out).

It's not before you create the league, but you can do the editing before you play your first game.

Re: Gridiron Solitaire, Anyone Check This Out?

Hey guys, just wanted to let you know that version 1.2 just went live on Steam. Here's the change log:
GAMEPLAY CHANGES
1. The CPU max gain no longer extends past the end zone. This will make goal line stands much more possible.
2. On Rookie difficulty, the yards per match on offense goes from 3/8 to 4/10. There are too many people right now who feel the game is too difficult, even on Rookie, so this will help.
3. Penalty cards will now be less frequent, BUT matching a penalty card no longer gains yards or reduces the opponent's gain. This is how I should have done it from the beginning, because it presents the player with more interesting decisions.

CUSTOM DIFFICULTY
Now you'll be able to customize your difficulty setting. If you're fine on offense but struggling on defense, for example, you can make adjustments to defensive difficulty only.

NEW FEATURES
1. The Team History area is now an interactive Team History Museum, with a huge number of additional stats tracked as well as career statistics for named players. You can also see your all-time Franchise leaders in the franchise record book.

Each season has its own selectable book in the Team Library. And if you've won Gridiron Bowl Championships, enjoy seeing your trophies displayed prominently in the Museum.

2. New halftime scorebox with TV-style presentation.

Thanks and I hope you guys get time to check it out!
