Which System To Purchase 2005 Sports Titles For

Okay question, I have decided to wait until after I go to E3 next month to decide on whether to purchase an Xbox or PS2 system for my sporting needs. The most important thing for me is online/broadband playability no lag. I have dsl but I have never played Madden/Nba Live online, how is it. Is it a ghostown like ESPN, no disrespect I just don't want to have to look for a game for 10-15 minutes and have people disconnect, etc. Thanks in advance for any help, Also I'm aware that new consoles will be here fall 2005/2006, but I need my fix now.

You don't own a console, but you are in the industry?

Not exactly, Last year it would have been easier. I was provided with my badge a week prior to E3. This year you will have to pick up the badge on site and show your valid DL. Not a big deal really but for someone who tries to use someone else's badge since their is no pic, might be difficult. Who cares, I'll be there.
