Argos to play at Varsity Stadium

Well this is for the literally one or two people that care about the CFL here.

The Toronto Argos announced that they will be playing in a 25,000 seat outdoor stadium on the grounds of Varsity Stadium in Downtown Toronto. The stadium will also be used by the Canadian Soccer Association for international soccer play. The stadium will be in use at the beginning of the 2006 season.

This is great news for the Argos who have "so-so" crowds in the cavernous Skydome which is probably one of the worst stadiums in its football alignment. If Montreal could revitalize itself by playing at McGill then so should the Argos.

Well I guess I am one of the two that care. It should be a good move. You're right it worked for Montreal, so with any luck it will work in T.O.. The league needs to have Toronto exist.

Thats cool, smaller staduim should make for more sellouts and a much more enjoyable atmosphere for both players and fans!

I know I like Ford Field much better than the Silverdome.

it also creates ticket demand which means you sell more full priced season tickets.
