How to Make Existing Games Feel like High School
I have been working hard for a few years now on making my video game experience play like a HS football game. It has been met with mixed results and I wanted to get the input of the community.
The most successful system I have implemented as of now was playing madden 09 on the original xbox, running 2 seperate 32 team franchies. Playing a 10 game season, then exporting the top 8 teams from each franchise record wise to be used in tournament mode which would be the district and state playoffs. I started out by signing each teams players to a 1-4 year contract to simulate players being in different years of their playing careers, which was very time consuming and didnt really work great since there arent many incoming rookies to fill all the gaps left by retiring players and such. It also gets hairy when players contracts expire from one team and get picked up by another team which does not happen in HS football. I am interested in getting that feel of randomness that the HS game brings. You dont know what your team will look like from year to year and you have to work with what you are given. To address this, I started a dynasty in NCAA 14 with teambuilder where all 12 coaches are set to human with no recruiting assistance, so they would get random incoming players who were all bad save for a 1 or 2 star prospect who would be a star player at the school. which was interesting, but then you cant have any sort of playoffs since you cant export teams from your dynasty. Does anyone have any thoughts? Maybe we could get some ideas together and create a good HS style game. Did you ever make a HS style dynasty? lets crank this out!

Re: How to Make Existing Games Feel like High School
Ok so testing out 04 seems that the whole have a guy play both sides of the ball is improbable. The game cuts awr down in half so a 99awr wr is only a 49 awr cb. So I'm gonna put all my work on in 2005 with it's better gameplay.

Re: How to Make Existing Games Feel like High School
Yeah I saw that you were using 05. I would recommend trying to pick up 07 or 08 because thats what most of the mods are made with and for. Im not sure how compatible they are with 05. Have you used texmod? That is a beautiful thing...
