Front Office Football Version 8

http://www.solecismic.com/frontierbl...ll-eight-news/

The new version of Front Office Football should be out this week with a bit of luck and help from Steam.

Can thoroughly recommend this game if you are into the idea of coach/GM play. It is text only - but compensates through fantastic depth and challenging AI.

Also there are a lot of online leagues out there which play this game.

Re: Front Office Football Version 8

Picked this up even though I had the 2K7 version but never really got into it because the dreadful UI. The UI is still dreadful but there are modal windows. I decided to take a gamble and picked this game up. Playing it on my MAC using PlayOnMac. Only real issue seems to be I can't see the scoreboard. I wasn't planning to coach anyway.

Initially I had a bit of regret on the purchase but I thought I was going to watch the play by play from each game. Ultimately I decided that was a bit boring. I'm just going to manage lineups now, sim the games and review the log. I'll probably watch my playoff games play out.

GM'd the Browns to 7-9 the first year. There wasn't much to do the first year but Duke Johnson led the league in rushing. We made tons of offseason changes but stuck with the staff. McCown was bad last season and we were able to bring in Kirk Cousins. I also found a complimentary back for Duke. Sam Alford who is rated slightly higher and has the starting job now. Duke isn't happy, but hey I'm just the GM. Tons of cap room so I spend some cash in the first offseason.

Probably the most underrated sports series of all time. Just a gem.

I'm the same as box boy. The game looks like it has tremendous value and depth, but for me managing the UI was frustrating. I haven't got the time or patience to persist with a tough to manage UI anymore so I kind of put the game to the side.
I know it's a shame but man if they polished the UI i'm sure this game would skyrocket in popularity.

Once you get used to the UI, which is, ehhhhhh, old school, it's very much worth it. Amazing engine behind the scenes.

What's the non-gameplay engine like? I tried playing and kind of got through the UI issues but gameplay wise i just not getting much excitement out of the games. i'll keep persisting but I often enjoy the GM aspects alot more than playing games so the GM aspects whilst deep aren't really immersive.
