Re: Best Football movie

I don't think any moveie has done justice to football, at least not in the vein of the baseball movies.

I also agree you have to specify high school, college, or pro...

For high school football; All the right moves, hands down. The football footage looked real, as were the practices, etc. as well as the small town drama. Varsity Blues was a joke.

College -eh, Rudy I guess but the Program was okay as well.

I would go with Brian's song for the dramatic effect and the acting, but there wasn't that much great on the field footage. North Dallas Forty was pretty good, but again, not great. Any Given Sunday was close to being really good, but the hideous uniforms and some of the over the top stuff (like the eyeball) was a little ridiculous.

I really liked a series shown on HBO in the mid 80's caled 1st & Ten. It was fairly cheesy, but the season where they had training camp was pretty good (a little more dramatic, less comedy).

The one movie that wasn't cheesy was All the right moves. Go figure.

Gotta go with Brian's Song and All The Right Moves.

But how could anyone forget The Longest Yard? I love that movie

If you have never been to Texas, dont knock that movie as being a joke. Read the book Friday Night Lights and it will give you a good background on a small Texas town that literally ****s down when high school football goes on. Which leads me to this, Superstar posted this earlier in the summer that the book is being turned into a movie. Nothing like a little more Mojo Magic from Permian.
