for Madden and ESPN were this year here they are

PS2 XBOX
Madden 93.4 92.4
ESPN 89.1 92.0

So according to the average score of all the reviews, Madden holds a slight edge over ESPN even though both were given very respectable scores. http://www.gamerankings.com/

they're both great games...right now I think I'm having more fun with Madden, but I need to give it some time to let the newness wear off. Everyone owes it to themselves to try both, because it's gonna come down to personal preference. Both games are that good, so it's just which one hooks you more.
