What I see is a team that has focused on the in depth aspects first, and movement second.

Player models are great
Customization is great
Playbooks are getting better
Game options (penalties, game speed, camera) is great

Yes, the movement needs some work as do player interactions. Honestly though, everything else is coming together really nicely. Anyone disappointed with it is simply only looking at the movement/interactions and ignoring the other very impressive aspects for a game coming from such a small development team.

I think they're only a few steps away from being REALLY good. They're big steps, but with our support by buying the product it will happen.

Just waiting for the release date.

Axis has really come a long ways. I've been really enjoying the Beta. These guys are really trying to push the envelope when it comes to innovation. I know that gamers like what's familiar to them. But, greatness doesn't occur by being conservative. You have got to be willing to take chances. This will spur innovation. I see people complaining about the yearly release football game, rinse and repeat. Where here's a chance to invoke change. They also really listen to the community feedback.

Any word on a release date for this? I'm planning to grab a copy of this and Maximum Football for my PS4 on day one.

They are hopeful for September. I can tell you they are working on BETA testing and fixing a ton of bugs. They are a dedicated team and go way above & beyond to implement USER feedback.

Okay, that might work out fairly well for me. Maximum Football is shooting for a July 31st release, so that gives me time to play it and then see how Axis Football compares a month later.
