FHM 11 set to release October 25th

The newest version of Franchise Hockey Manager is set to be released tomorrow, October 25th according to the devs on X and Twitch. The steam page still says "Coming Soon". https://store.steampowered.com/app/2...ey_Manager_11/

According to the stream and their X it's also following the way of OOTP and getting a price increase to $44.99. Frankly I don't see enough to warrant that price incrase. So after buying FHM4, 5, 6, 7, 9, & 10. It's a hard pass for me this time.

Guess it's time to go back to EA hockey for my hockey fix. Thankfully that games halfway decent this year.

Has the FHM AI caught up or passed EHM's yet? The two things keeping me on EHM after all these years are the AI and 2d match engine.

I don’t believe so. I skipped 11 but from what I’ve read it’s even worse. Horrible trades and horrible roster management.

And the 2d match engine from what I’ve seen hasn’t changed at all.

That's disheartening. I'm not a die hard hockey aficionado, but I do love diving into the world occasionally. I fired up EHM again a few days ago and still amazed at how the game plays with updated rosters, etc. I would love to switch to FHM because I love the customization options, NCAA inclusions, etc. but can't justify the price for someone I won't play often.

        Thanks for the insights.

I really need to give EHM a try. I never did try it. It just looks dated to me but maybe I just need to suck it up and try it.

Definitely worth it for $5. Let me know if you decide to pick it up and I'll share some of the best mods for the 24/25 seasons.

EHM is still the gold standard for hockey management games. And if you're good with the DB editor you can set up your own rosters/hockey world. FHM unfortunately still has a long way to go.

I decided to purchase FHM11 directly from OOTPD during the Autumn Sale because I wanted to create some custom setups with international tournaments, etc. I haven't had a chance to dive in yet, but will let y'all know once I get going.

It's a fantastic overall upgrade from the last iteration I owned/played, which was FHM6. The UI continues to improve and the customization options are catching up to OOTP. There's still a ways to go, but the positive progress is easy to see. The match engine and AI still have a long way to go as the progress has been minimal. The AI roster management is a mess. The match engine is okay, but still not up to par with EHM.

Overall, if you're looking for a modern-day NHL specific simulation, the game is fantastic. If you want more historical or custom, you will likely be disappointed.

How is the online league mode?
We tried to start one with older versions but the import and export feature sucked.
And if you wanted to sim multiple days, if an injury occurred the AI would completely ignore the depth chart and reset all your strategies and lineups.
