Re: Franchise Hockey Manager 5 Review

The Online Leagues need a lot more work.
The main issue is dealing with injuries. If you're trying to sim 7 days at a time and an injury occurs, you have to either manage each owners roster manually, or ask the AI to adjust.
The issue with this is twofold:
1. The AI is dumb. It doesn't always make the best changes. It would be great if a depth chart was available ala OOTP so that the proper players are moved to make up for the loss.
2. All of your strategies are wiped clean.

The volume and depth of strategies offered in FHM are ridiculously awesome. The depth is crazy to the point it's almost too much.
So nothing is more frustrating to an online GM than spending hours upon hours setting up strategies for every conceivable situation only to see everything wiped clean if the commissioner is forced to use the AI to readjust lines due to injuries.
If they could just add a 'save template' feature so that the GM's could at least reapply after each sim, it would help.
However, injuries are so plentiful that you're lucky if you get one game per sim where your lines and strategies are in tact.

Some will answer that we should only be simming one day at a time to give GM's a chance to make adjustments.
But for most people, this is way too hard to accomplish.

Finally, the online leagues need to have HTML upload capabilities.
OOTP has them and they're great. Hopefully this gets added into FHM6.

They need exhibition mode. I would love to play two historical teams against each other like Action PC Hockey has. But you can only have a season.
