Round 1
The biggest story was the 2 most popular stars Hogan and Flair were not on the list of options. This made it a no brainer decision for the 1st pick. Macho Man has stamina, popularity and mic skills. He is a specialist that can work heel or face. We now hoped Regal would go with Sting.
Me / Raw/ Jack Tunney - Randy "Macho Man" Savage"
CPU / Smackdown / William Regal - Sting
Round 2
Me - Million Dollar Man Ted Dibiase
CPU - Jake 'The Snake" Roberts
We pick another specialist in Dibiase who will be a main event level heel. It was a tough pick between him and Andre. They break our hearts getting Jake someone we really wanted.
Round 3
Me - Andre The Giant
CPU - Jerry "the king" Lawyer.
A easy decision to grab Andre here with Jake off the board with his star power and being a giant.
Round 4
Me - Tito Santana
CPU - Dusty Rhodes
After taking some expensive guys they got for a cheaper route. Tito is another specialist with high stamina while they grab the more popular Dusty Rhodes. Tito also has mic skills.
Round 5
Me - Ricky Steamboat
CPU - Animal
Another pick that will save a lot of $ as they go for the much more popular road warrior. Cruiser weights are few and far between so we wanted to make sure we got one that can work with the giants in singles action.
Round 6
Me - Big John Studd
CPU - Faarooq / Ron Simmons
This could end up being a fantastic pick as Big John Studd is not only a giant. He has 80 stamina, a 5 on the mic and can work in tag teams. Another pick for them who wasn't on our board.
Round 7
Me - Davey Boy Smith
CPU - Arn Anderson
Its time to start working on the tag teams and Davey Boy gets the call.
Round 8
Me - Mr. Wonderful Paul Orndoff
CPU - Michael P.S Hayes
Paul is a staple for this time period that can work the mic and be in the occasional main event.
Round 9
Me - Nikala Volkoff
CPU - Lex Luger
Another guy that was a little cheaper then other options. He can work in tag teams or the mid card and is another high stamina guy. This means Iron Sheik is likely to get brought in or drafted. Lex is another guy not on our board
Round 10
Me - Greg "The Hammer" Valentine
CPU - Ricky Morton
Things are surprisingly going nearly perfect as they take someone else, we weren't going to. However, Rick Morton is going to be a great addition for them. This could be a pick that is regretted as Greg isn't all that popular and doesn't have big stamina. He does have a 5 on the mic and is a specialist. Keep a eye on Beefcake to be brought in.
Round 11
Me - Dynamite Kid
CPU - Nikita Koloff
A big relief is taken here as we needed to complete a tag team. He is also a cruiser weight and as we mentioned those are hard to find.
Round 12
Me - Adrain Adonis
CPU - Jim 'Hacksaw" Duggan
We looked up and realized oh crap we haven't taken a single "fighter" style yet. This is our pick for sleeper in the entire draft and a bit of a lesser-known name in Adrian Adonis. He had the highest stamina of any draftable guy with a amazing 89. His style of a fighter will match up well as a lot of bruiser baby faces to go up against. The 1st time in a while they draft someone we wanted.
Round 13
Me - The Honkytonk Man
CPU - Cowboy Bob Orton
After the Adonis pick we said we had better take another fighter that's a baby face and looked at Haku. He had amazing stamina and could work tag teams as well. However we saw The Honkytonk Man pretty high up on the popular list and we couldn't risk not getting him.
Round 14
Me - King Kong Bundy
CPU - Virgil
We didn't really need a 3rd giant on the roster however King Kong Bundy is another staple of the era. He can also team with Big John Studd as the 2nd tag team to feud with the British Bulldogs.
Round 15
Me - Haku
CPU - N/A
Our gamble of waiting on Haku paid off and we got a 84 stamina and the only baby face fighter on the roster. His partner Tama has low popularity and should be pretty easy to bring in down the line. They are out of $ and have to forfeit their pick.
Round 16
Round 16 was actually the toughest pick of the whole night. We could go cheap and bring in 2 to 3 opener types. They had low popularity, but that could be worked on and at worst would give depth to the roster and not overuse guys. A lot of cheap names to pick from like Killer Bees, Iron Mike Sharpe, Paul Roma, Brooklyn Brawler, Corporal Kirchner, Uncle Elmer, Koko B Ware etc.
The other strategy was to take one more popular guy and the Iron Shiek was a prime candidate. He could complete a tag team on the heel side. However, Tunney has always had a soft spot for Hillbilly Jim and spend nearly all the money on him. His bruising style will fit well with the heel specialists/fighters as a mid-card with solid popularity.
Me - Hillbilly Jim
CPU - N/A
