Re: UFC Fighters blog: Richard MacEwan

After some time off due to medical suspension, Mac hit the training hard and join the Greg Jackson camp to work with GSP on Kickboxing. The extra time spent work showed early rewards getting 4 straight KO win against Kevin Harris, Johnny Oro, James Irvin, Kazahro Nakamura. Now finding himself 9-1 the young fighter was given two choices. Chuck Liddell or Stehpan Bonnar.
For the Mac it was an easy choice, avenge the loss then start chopping down the top 10.

Re: UFC Fighters blog: Richard MacEwan

Ultimate Fight Night

3 Round Light Heavyweight Fight

R.MacEwan 9-1 vs Stephan Bonnar 16-8 II

Round 1
Charging across the ring at Bonnar, Mac seemed to be a man possessed. There was no feeling out needed this time around, just a burning desire to crush his foe. Bonnar found himself peppered with jabs and straights and pulled into the clinch. Mac's dirty boxing was a sight to see this night, from short elbows to powering uppercuts. You could see even from your tv that Bonnar was hurt bad, and Mac knew it too. Mac pushed off from Bonnar and in one swift yet powerful move delivered the KO of the night.
A head kick not seen since the days of Pride's Cro-Cop, Bonnar knees buckled his rolled and he dropped to the mat like the weight of gravity was to much.

Post fight interview
Joe: That is an amazing kick you wield, how did that feel?

Mac: Like victory

Joe: no doubt, whats next after avenging your only loss?

Mac: Well I'd love a shot at the top fighters, prove I'm for real. But I'll fight anyone the give me.
