Friendly Match 1 : Wales V Belgium

The weather was awful as Belgium kicked off in the snowy weather. In the fifth minute Bale swung in a cross for Bellamy but his shot came off a defender and was cleared. The ninth minute of play produced Belgium’s first chance of the game when a free kick was swung into the box but Nyatanga was ready to head it into the keepers waiting gloves.

The next chance didn’t arrive until Bellamy was given space in the box exactly on the twenty eight minute mark but his finish was lacklustre, was Toshack right, is Bellamy beginning to get rusty?

The deadlock was broken by the welsh when Aaron Ramsey’s pinpoint pass into the Belgium box was matched by a pinpoint finish into the top corner of the Belgian goals by Earnshaw. Ramsey and Earnshaw were quick to celebrate before returning to their positions for the Belgians restart.

Fellaini forcefully crashed into Nyatanga seconds before the half time whistle and he had to be substituted off, now twenty three year old Craig Morgan had a name to make for himself.

HT Score : Wales 1 - 0 Belgium
Three minutes after the restart Bellamy managed to wriggle through the Belgian players in there box but from a tight angle was only able to hit the woodwork, Bellamy had a chance to redeem himself two minutes later after a Joe Ledley cross and header it past the keeper with frightful ease. Toshack could be seen frantically dancing on the sidelines.

Belgium were given a chance to pull a goal back in the sixty second minute after being gifted a corner but the cross drifted to the far side of the box and was dispatched up field by Collins.

Wales held onto possesion for the last ten minutes of the game and denied Belgium any chances.

FT Score: Wales 2 - 0 Belgium

Good start. You look like you're in a pretty easy group.

He will never be too old to play

Congrats on the win, but it is a friendly so it sucks that Nyatanga is injured right now, plus Ramsey is rather unfortunate as you would def like to head in top shape versus Hungagary.

Yeah, Nyatanga is a key player, along with Ramsey, the thing I have to clear up with Nyatanga is after the match in the news section it said he was injured and will be out for two games, then when I clicked continue it popped up telling me Ramsey was out for one game and Nyatanga would miss three?

I'll find players that can replace them at the moment, hopefully.

WELL DONE ON BEATING BELGIUM!!

Good choice choosing Simon Davies as captain, he was born in the same hospital as me
