Liverpool got a draw in a dull tie at Anfield. The first half flew by, and then Javier Hernandez broke through and slotted Man U in front. Fernando Torres (who didn't look as sharp as before) got through, and had his shot saved by Van der Sar, but slotted in the rebound. The second half was dull, and a draw was fair.

Liverpool's slow start to the month continued at the Stadium of Light, where last season Darren Bent's infamous beachball goal earned the Black Cats a 1-0 win. Jordan Henderson scored a goal following a brilliant team move. Liverpool equalised when Kuyt took the ball at the edge of the box, and although running into Torres, took a snapshot which Gordon could only knock into his goal, for Kuyt's fifth of the season. Kuyt's position has been under fire from critics, but this performance helped.

Carroll 90
Liverpool eventually saw off Wolves in the FA Cup Quarter-Finals, a last gasp Carroll strike winning it. After 90 dull minutes, Phil Jones won a free-kick well into Liverpool's half. Jones' 70-yard pass found Carroll, who chested it down, took 2 touches and volleyed past Wayne Hennessey.
