Tale of the Tape
Braeden Alexander
Tanner Porter
72'' Reach 74''
5'11 Height 5'11
175 lbs Weight 166 lbs
23 Rank 22
22 Age 29
16(16)-0-0 Record 29(15)-12-2

On December 14th Braeden "Blood" Alexander will be taking on Tanner Porter at the MGM Grand. The fight was announced on October 15th, and both fighters have been eagerly awaiting their meeting in the ring by mid-December. Porter. At the official weigh-in, they answered some questions about the fight to the media.

"Braeden, how do you feel the difference in experience will be against Porter. He does have double the fights than you."

"Well when you look at his record, he's barely won half of his fights, and he's only ranked 22nd. I think his experience of losing will only heighten my chances of winning."

"You think all my losses go against me? Chump, in this weight division being at my rank is a hard earned business. You wait and see how hard I'm gonna hit you, then you can make fun of my record."

"I'm not scared of somebody who loses half his fights."

"You best be. You just wait until I make you squeal in the ring."

Tempers didn't get out of control, but it looks like both fighters think the other isn't as good as they look. We'll see who is right and who is wrong tomorrow night at the MGM Grand.

************Disclaimer************
Scroll down slowly to avoid spoilers
**********************************

Round 1: Both fighters come out, Alexander gets a quick combo going and it looks like he's trying to push the pace. But Porter keeps covering up and gives him nothing. Now Porter goes on the attack, getting a few good counters, but doing no serious damage.

Round 2: Alexander is really trying to take control. Oh what a counter! Porter is stunned, he's backing towards the corner. But he survives. Oh and another counter! He's stunned again. Alexander still can't finish him off, and he recovers. Alexander is throwing big punches now. OH! What a counter by Porter! Alexander is down. 1,2... Alexander is recovering... 3, and he's up at the count of 3. He looks mad at himself.

Round 3: Alexander looks mad, and he's going after Porter again. He stuns him! But once again he can't finish him off. Oh my gosh Porter is stunned yet again! But he still has a solid chin and can't get knocked down. And he lets out another counter! And look at this! Alexander is down for the second time of this match. 1,2... he's getting up... 3,4,5... he got up using the ropes, but his eyes still look a little glassy

Round 4: Porter is winning the fight and he knows it. He's going on the attack, and Alexander is stunned again! This fight is not going the way he wanted it. He survives, and now he's covering up. Oh he sees and opening and counters! Now Porter is wheeling, but he still stays up. And gosh, he's reeling again, this is the sixth time that's happened, but he stays up again. Alexander is back in the fight.

Round 5: Now both fighters are being cautious again, trying to recover from the chaos that was the last round. It looks like Alexander won the round, since he got some more punches and got a few good counters.

Round 6: Alexander is getting reckless again, has he learned nothing from the past few rounds? And, wow! Porter counters him again, and Alexander is down for the third time. Will he get up? 1,2,3... it looks like he's trying to get up, 4,5,6... he's on his knees, he's trying to get on his feet... 7,8,9... he falls again! He was on his feet! The fight is over!

Tanner Porter has won the fight!

Braeden Alexander falls to 16(16)-1-0.

ESPN caught up with Alexander after the fight.

ESPN: Braeden, how do you feel after this fight?

Braeden: Like a hypocrite

ESPN: Does that feeling have anything to do with the words you exchanged with Porter before the fight?

Braeden: Yes. I talked trash, and when you can't back that up you're a hypocrite.

ESPN: Do you plan on having a rematch?

Braeden: No

ESPN: Is there anything else you would like to say?

Braeden: Not at all.

Re: The Next Greatest | FNR4

The Edmonton Paper
Article By: Steven Rodriguez

"Blood" Alexander wins by decision!

Braeden Alexander is usually known for getting knockouts. So far this year whenever he's won its been by knockout. But last night against Gideon Miranda, he went the distance to win by unanimous decision. This was the first time he's fought for a full 10 rounds, and it clearly took its toll on the young fighter, as he was thoroughly exhausted at the end of the match.

Just after the fight, Jermain Taylor challenged the young fighter to a match as soon as he was recovered. Wanting the healthy boost in the ranks, Alexander accepted, and the two are due to fight in two months. Some think Alexander is biting off more than he can chew, as Jermain Taylor is stronger, faster, and tougher than himself. But Braeden remains confident that as long as he fights smartly, he can win. Some however say that isn't his style.

"He's a good fighter, but he doesn't necessarily box. Sure, he's good at countering, and his hands are as quick as his punches hurt, but Jermain Taylor is all this and more, plus he has more experience. And Alexander won't even get to train. They scheudled to fight as soon as he's declared healthy, so it looks like he's in for some eye opening come fight day."

Many agree, but Braeden looks hellbent on proving all those who talk against him wrong.

"Blood" Alexander ko'd in 7th round

Many expected Braeden "Blood" Alexander's fight against Jermain Taylor to be a ko for Taylor in a few rounds. Taylor did get the ko, but not after fighting a long fight in Alexander. He held him off for 7 rounds, he even started winning the fight. However, exhaustion took its tool, and Taylor had better Endurance and Strength. By the 7th round this became a huge factor, and Taylor was able to get the knockout.

It isn't certain who Alexander will fight next, but it looks like he wants to get a good streak going before he falls in the ranks again.
