I literally put my head in my hands when I missed that sitter. We played so well to only concede one goal vs the potent Villarreal attack.

AMF is tough for Rayo because we play 4-4-1-1 with 2 CDMs so very rarely to do we break with favorable or even #'s. We pretty much have to break a defense down and we're not talented enough nor do we have the ST's that can hold up play. We do generate a lot of set-pieces while trying to hold up play though!

Young Chilean Guerrero scored the lone goal in the first of the Copa del Ray tonight, "It wasn't the prettiest of goals and to be honest I don't know how it found the back-of-the-net but it did and I was happy we could take this one. After playing poorly I was happy that the fans out there stood by me (Matt10) and I rewarded their patience tonight" said Guerrero.

Rayo will still have to play well in the 2nd leg if they want to advance in the Copa.

LOL. The build-up was fantastic but I couldn't finish that again if I tried to, especially considering the poor 1st touch.

Valencia took Rayo behind the woodshed tonight in a 7-1 thrashing at the Mestalla. Jonas got Valencia off to a 1-0 start behind a PK and after the equalizer it was all to El Che. "We tried to play free-flowing attacking football with them and we got smashed" said Guerrero.
