From the info I was able to gather through the GTN, he looks to fit perfectly, but like anything you never really know until he actually arrives and I get to see his complete ratings set(I use the GTN or search feature exclusively, none of those cheat sites that give you players ratings ahead of time)

2013-14 Sky Bet Championship
Match Day #30
25 January 2014
Falmer Stadium, Brighton

Brighton & Hove 0-2 SWFC

Scoring Summary

4' Gary Madine - SWFC
76' Benik Afobe - SWFC

Owls Prevail In Snowy Brighton

Job well done in Brighton

Striker Gary Madine scored for the third time in four league games, Arsenal Loanee Benik Afobe added another, and GK Chris Kirkland turned in a stellar man of the match performance as visiting Sheffield Wednesday picked up their second straight clean sheet in a 2-0 triumph over brighton & Hove here at cold and icy Falmer Stadium.
With snow falling rather steadily at the start, the Owls gained a huge advantage when Maikel Antonio's first cross of the match found the ascending Gary Madine who out dueled three Brighton defenders before crashing the ball home just four minutes into the match.
Madine's goal would prove vital for the Owls as conditions worsened and shooting became difficult. Time and again betrayed by the weather, the Seagulls began to take chances, and it was these very chances that would eventually do them in when Wednesday midfielder Jermaine Johnson intercepted a wayward pass, starting a chain of events which would end with young Benik Afobe putting the game out of reach with his first goal in nearly two months.

Yeah, I was surprised when I saw his GTN report. He had decent pace(fast for a CB really) and strength. Plus jumping and heading isn't bad at all.
