Recap- Fresh off of their Coupe de France semi-final victory over Lens, a confident Lorient squad used smothering defense to take down third place Marseille, defeating them by the score of 1-0. Innocent Emeghara's opportunistic goal late in the first half proved the winner for the home side who still have an outside chance at finishing top half. As for Marseille, they remain four points clear of Lille thanks to their 1-0 loss at the hands of 1st place PSG.

Monaco Complete Dream Run With Victory Over Lorient

Ligue 2 side AS Monaco completed their dream run through the Coupe de France with a scintillating victory over Lorient on penalties. Tied at 1-1 after regular time, both clubs scored in the first period of extra time to make it 2-2 before eventually heading to penalties. Once there, Monaco would not be denied, winning by 3-1 to earn the first National Cup since 1991

Recap- Told just hours before that their manager would not be returning, Marseille came out and played a first half for the ages, scoring three times on their way to a 3-1 victory on the road at Sochaux. The victory gives Marseille a final record of 23-7-8, good enough for 76 points and third place. Not good enough for the OM board however who fired Didier Deschamps at season's end, bringing an abrupt end to this story. Up next will be final table, leaders, and champions from other leagues. Thanks to everyone who followed along, I appreciate it and look for another dynasty soon based in England although I'm not quite sure where yet!
