A rough start although you did play quality opponents. I'm following this. Really like the presentation and the fact it's Fiorentina and Serie A.

Serie A Match Day #3
15 September 2012
Stadio Artemio Franchi, Florence

Fiorentina 0-0 Catania

Montella Held By Former Club

Facing his former club for the first time since leaving for Fiorentina in June, Vincenzo Montella insisted that he left Catania on good terms and that there were no hard feelings, the play on the pitch however intimated otherwise. The match was physical, it had an edge, and in the end neither club could gain the upper hand and the match would finish just as it began with the score level at 0-0. Despite various bumps and bruises due to the game's physical nature, the lone casualty was 20 year old Viola attacker Adem Ljajic who suffered a sprained ankle early on and had to be replaced, he's expected to miss the next three weeks. Following the match Montella remained complementary to his former club despite his visible frustration with the result which leaves his team at 0-2-1 and in 16th place with just two points, said Montella: "Catania played a great game I won't take anything away from them but our finishing needs to improve, I thought we could have had at least two but we couldn't convert. I think we were the better side but that means nothing when you don't score, we need to improve against Bologna."

Serie A Match Day #4
19 September 2012
Stadio Artemio Franchi, Florence

Fiorentina 1-0 Bologna

Scoring Summary
49' Giuseppe Rossi - ACF

Viviano Stars, As Viola Finally Earn Montella His First League Win

On a warm and soggy day here in Florence, Fiorentina manager Vincenzo Montella finally earned his first league win with his new club, eking out a tense 1-0 victory over a very determined Bologna squad. Dominant in the first half, the Viola continued to struggle with accuracy, missing the target on all but one of their seven first half shots, meanwhile the visitors had no such issues, forcing Fiorentina keeper Emiliano Viviano to make several key saves in order to keep the game scoreless heading into the half.
The second half saw Fiorentina become much more selective with their shooting and the results were near immediate, as Giuseppe Rossi scored his first goal in a Fiorentina shirt to give the home side a much needed 1-0 lead less than five minures in. In front for virtually the first time all season, Montella's men seemed to finally gain some confidence as the match wore on, bossing the ball for long stretches while slowly but surely breaking the will of the visitors who looked less and less likely to equalize as the time ticked away. In the end it was a much needed win for Fiorentina and their manager, but with a visit to Il Tardini looming in just four days there is little time to bask in their glory, Parma awaits and they must be ready.

Viola Lose Aquilani For Three Months With Broken Foot

Alberto Aquilani early on against Bologna

Injured in the dying embers of Fiorentina's victory over Bologna, Fiorentina midfielder Alberto Aquilani was not expected to miss more than a few days with what was thought to be just an ankle knock, today's routine scan however showed that the oft-injured new boy would be spending more time on the sidelines than was originally expected due to a broken metatarsal in his right foot. Although it is unclear whether surgery will be necessary, he's now expected to be shelved for around three months.

Juan Cuadrado's exhilarating 48th minute strike from the corner of the box instantly opened up what had been up to that point a tight goalless affair, and when the dust cleared, substitute Mounir El Hamdaoui's answer to a Jonathan Biabiany brace allowed Fiorentina to escape Il Tardini with a hard fought 2-2 draw.

Jovetic's First Of The Season Earns Montella Yet Another Draw

Inter's Diego Milito celebrates the second of his two first half goals

Having led Catania to a league high(tied with Juventus) 15 draws last season including road draws against the likes of Lazio, Napoli, AS Roma, and Inter among others, Vincenzo Montella was able to lead Gli Elefanti to a surprising and impressive 11th place finish, the club's highest placing since returning to Serie A after a 22 year absence in 2006-07. Now at Fiorentina, Montella has continued in that vein again, earning four draws in the club's first six games including back to back difficult road draws with Parma and now Inter whom the Viola held by a 2-2 score thanks to goals from Juan Cuadrado and Stevan Jovetic, who broke his duck with a match leveling penalty conversion at the 51' minute mark. Expectations however are a funny thing, and despite the fact that a completely revamped club with a new manager and a very difficult early season schedule has managed to go unbeaten in four straight as they try to figure it out, fans, and more importantly the board are beginning to get restless. What they see is that Montella has managed just one win in six tries and that the club sits in an uninspiring 11th place, already 9 points out of a Champions League place, simply not good enough for a club with lofty aspirations. With pressure mounting, Montella must now start to win, and with games coming up in October against Juventus, AC Milan, and Lazio, he has his work cut out for him.
