Re: L'Aeroplanino Lands In Tuscany

Tough start. I have had a solid start in BPL with spurs sitting in 4th, euro league another story, first 3 matches all draws.

Talk about a tough early season schedule, I've already faced Napoli, Inter, Catania, and Parma, all top ten clubs in real life and my next four are against: Juventus, Chievo Verona, AC Milan, and Lazio.

Uggggh, feel you on that, just had streak with chelsea, manU, liverpool, and euro league in between. Just lost in Capital One Cup to QPR, had to play 2nd team, and it showed.

Serie A Match Day #7
14 October 2012
Stadio Artemio Franchi, Florence

Fiorentina 0-1 Juventus

Scoring Summary
70' Leonardo Bonucci - Juv

In Form Buffon The Difference As Champions Edge Past Viola

Collecting his fourth clean sheet of this young campaign, Juventus keeper Gianluigi Buffon turned away all eight on target efforts to earn man of the match honors in a well played 1-0 Juventus victory over Fiorentina. With both keepers in inspired form it looked as if Montella's men were headed for yet another draw, but Leanardo Bonucci's 70th minute headed effort off of an Andrea Pirlo corner kick ended any hope of that when he beat Viola keeper Emiliano Viviano high to the short side, giving the Bianconeri all they would need to take all three points. After the defeat, Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Montella admitted that Juve were the better team tonight but he insisted that his team would improve, saying "Juventus proved they are superior tonight, but we are in the middle of a growth process and that means experiencing these lessons, we will learn from this and come back strong against Chievo."

I'd think Chievo is a must win then. One small club in eight games.

Stadio Marc'Antonio Bentegodi, Verona

Chievo Verona 0-1 Fiorentina

Scoring Summary
59' Borja Valero - ACF

Second Best, Fiorentina Escape Verona With Three Points

Gonzalo Rodriguez celebrates as time expires

Clearly not at their best, Vincenzo Montella's squad were saved by the quick feet of Borja Valero and some fine keeping by backup Neto as Fiorentina finally picked up their second win of the season with a 1-0 smash and grab over a stunned Chievo Verona. Still scoreless despite being on the back foot for most of the match, Fiorentina finally started to apply some pressure as the match inched towards the hour mark, it was here that the ever alert Borja Valero worked his magic, beating Chievo keeper Samir Ujkani to a loose ball before deftly putting it home to give the Viola the lead and eventually the match.
