Re: Coach Pfeifer's World Cup Dreams

Zambia can advance with win!

All throughout Zambia, they are readying themselves for the upcoming match as they host Swaziland. Swaziland may only be #148 in the latest Coca-Cola FIFA World Rankings, but they did hold Zambia to a 1-1 draw earlier in the week. With a win, the Chipolopolo will move on to Stage 3; one step closer to their nation's first ever trip to the World Cup. This can easily be slated as the biggest game to date for the country.

The team has been fighting through numerous injuries. The most recent being CAM Noah Chivuta, who has been critical for the Chipolopolo in the midfield recently, picked up a strained hamstring and will miss
at least the next 2 matches. His replacement will be CAM Rainford Kalaba who possesses a calm on the ball that they will need in the absence of Chivuta.

Also unable to play
has been starting GK Kennedy Mweene who has missed the last 2 matches with a pulled groin. Back-up GK Kalililo Kakonje has come in and done valiantly. He came up particularly big in Zambia's shock 3-2 win at home over a frustrated Peru.

Most interestingly has been the surprise benching of CDM Stoppila Sunzu. Sunzu pulled his quad and was out for 2 games earlier in the campaign and was replaced by CDM Andrew Sinkala who has been sensational in shutting down the opposition. Sinkala stepped in and also scored a wonder-goal against Peru on a strike from 25 yards out that deflected off a defender and found itself nestled into the corner of the net.

This will be a
true test as to whether or not Zambia deserve to make it to Stage 3. If they cannot pull out a victory, they leave the door wide open with a final game against an extremely tough Togo side who are spear-headed by Premier League centerpiece Emmanuel Adebayor.

Zambia advance to Stage 3!

With the 2-0 victory at home over Swaziland, Zambia have found themselves locked into a trip to Stage 3. They must finish out some friendlies as well as a final game at home against a reeling Togo that needed help from Swaziland to even give them a shot at advancing. It is quite a shock to see Togo struggling during this campaign and with that, unfortunately, is the end of their run. We will be back after Stage 3 wraps up to give the full run-down on all the Stage 2 groups as well as any surprises to date. A big congratulations to the nation of Zambia!

Re: Coach Pfeifer's World Cup Dreams

fyi difficulty is now bumped to World Class. Overall, right where it should be. The one thing I have noticed is that I'm not giving up more shots, but they are scoring at a better rate. Fine by me...I'll just have to sure up my defense. The true test will be when I have my last game against Togo at home to see how much better they are...for now, back to more friendlies.

if anyone knows how to find your overall schedule including friendlies, please let me know!
