Celtic Takes A Step In The Right Direction

When Neil Lennon first started this season, he said that before he retired at the helm of Celtic he wanted to bring them at least one Champion's Cup, today he is one step closer, one small step. In the first group stage game for Celtic, they knocked off Schalke 04 by a score of 3-1. In the 20th minute, captain Scott Brown opened up scoring with a great pass by youngster James Forrest. However, Schalke was able to tie it right back up again 7 minutes later with a goal from Holtby. In the beginning of the second half, it was Gary Hooper to the rescue. With a great pass by Kris Commons, Gary Hooper was able to score the game winner in the 50th minute. Schalke had many chances to tie the game up later, but Fraser Forester was able to keep everything out as he played a great game and Celtic won 3-1.

Re: Bringing Gold to CELTIC

Battle Between The Top

When Celtic played at home against Motherwell, it was a clash of #2 playing host to #1. You could honestly say that this game was an old fashioned shootout. Within the first 5 minutes, Ojamaa stripped young Adam Matthews right in front of a helpless Fraser Forster and was able to put Motherwell up early. "That was a very bad play by Matthews, but the guy's young and he'll learn." That came from coach Lennon. However, later in the 10th minute, Hooper was able to tie the game up at 1-1. Ojamaa could not be stopped as 2 minutes later, he scored on a near post shot that somehow got by goalie Forster to put Motherwell back in front 2-1. Celtic was feeling a little overwhelmed by the pace of the game and decided to slow it down for a little, but that did not last long. After finding their rhythm again, Celtic was able to score 4 goals in a row to win the game 5-2. Gary Hooper was the main story from this game. He played out of his mind. After scoring the first goal, he assisted on the next two, before scoring the last two. He scored 5 points by getting 3 goals and 2 assists. He undoubtedly received player of the game honors with a 9.8 rating. "Gary played lights out tonight, I think that he is really excelling on this team and can help up go really far this year. After today, I feel like he has a chance to get the Golden Boot this year." With the win, Celtic is on top of the league and Motherwell slips down the 2nd place.

Re: Bringing Gold to CELTIC

Dominance By Celtic

For the second game in a row, Celtic lit up the opposing teams net. This time it wasn't Hooper, but newly acquired Fred who got the man of the match award and 9.8 rating as he got a hat trick, scoring the last three goals of the game. "Fred has definently been an amazing pick up for us. Some of the fans were skeptical about us getting him, but I feel like we are proving them all wrong. Fred has scored in every game that he has played for us and now leads the league in scoring with 6 goals." Fred is definently playing well, and with him and Hooper up front, they form one of the deadliest duos in Scottish Football right now. Celtic remain in first place.

Re: Bringing Gold to CELTIC

I agree with what you said regarding Samaras. I think he is a smarter, more technical version of Andy Carroll.

Speaking of him, where do you put him in your lineup? What does your overall lineup look like?
