RAW Week 3 April 2012
Raw starts off with John Laurinitias standing in the back. He welcomes us to Raw and makes a champion vs champion rematch from last week with John Cena as the special guest referee which gets a loud reaction from the crowd. He also announces a fatal 4 way match for Extreme Rules to become the number 1 contender for the WWE Championship featuring Randy Orton, Mark Henry, Daniel Bryan and Alberto Del Rio.
Match 1 Heath Slater vs Zack Ryder
Slater defeated Ryder in the opening match of the show. Ryder was over with the crowd but he couldn’t go over against the 1 Man Rock Band Heath Slater.
Winner - Heath Slater via Pin-fall 4:38
Match 2 Damien Sandow & Dolph Ziggler vs Epico & Primo
Ziggler and Sandow once again found themselves on the same team after impressing last week and tonight was no exception. Primo and Epico struggled to create any real offense as they were kept grounded by their larger opponents. Sandow got the win with a Powerbomb on Epico.
Winners – Sandow & Dolph Ziggler via Pin-fall 6:09
Match 3 Kelly Kelly vs Eve (Divas Championship No.1 Contender)
Eve’s new vicious streak over the past few weeks have no doubt contributed to her success lately however it was her overconfidence that cost her this time around. In a rematch from 2 weeks ago it was Kelly Kelly who came out on top with a roll up and will now go onto challenge for the Divas Championship at Extreme Rules.
Winner – Kelly Kelly via Pin-fall 3:57
Backstage CM Punk confronts John Cena about his role in tonight's main event. Punk says Cena portrays himself as good guy, but is he going to do the right thing tonight? Cena says he will call it down the middle and wishes Punk good luck which the champion reluctantly accepts before walking off.
Match 4 Mark Henry & Alberto Del Rio (w) Ricardo Rodriguez vs Randy Orton & Daniel Bryan (w) AJ Lee
Mark Henry proved what most of us already know, that he is not a team player when he clotheslined his own partner just seconds into the match before heading to the back. This left Del Rio all alone against the duo of Randy Orton and Daniel Bryan who finished off the Mexican after Orton delivered the RKO. Bryan did not appear to be happy that it was Randy who got the pin-fall and not himself as he stormed to the back leaving AJ behind.
Winners – Randy Orton & Daniel Bryan via Pin-fall 7:09
Match 5 The Miz vs CM Punk (Special Referee – John Cena)
Cena made his way to the ring first, followed by The Miz and then the WWE Champion CM Punk. Punk wasted no time as he went on the attack and opened up on Miz with a series of strikes. Punk continued to dominate using near enough every move he could think of while allowing the Intercontinental hardly any offense. Miz tried to escape by exiting the ring but he was taken out by Punk with a suicide dive. Miz used the barricade to his advantage as he pulled himself up to his feet however so did Punk as he charged at the awesome one and speared him through the barricade. Punk entered the ring and stared down Cena who had no choice but to count out The Miz after an extremely slow count.
Winner – CM Punk via Count Out 5:48
After the match Punk grabs his title and raises it in front of Cena. Punk appears to be unhappy at Cena, perhaps for the slow count he gave at the end. Both men share words as the show closes.
