Pride classic between Nog and Werdum. Werdum wanted to turn this fight into a kicking match. Nog obliged and did the kicking for a tad bit. However Werdum was getting the best of the stand up, landing some clean punches to Nog's head. Nog said enough of that and took Werdum's back and dragged the fight to the ground.

In the beginning Werdum held his own on the ground. He even tried a submission attempt on Nog's arm. However the Black Belt Nog was too crafty on the ground for Werdum and fired off 3 various submission attempts in a row on the ground. Overwhelmed by the amount of rapid fire submission attempts, Werdum was snagged in a triangle choke and was forced to tap in the 1st round.

Classic fight between Andrei Arloski and Tim Sylvia started off as a brawl. Both men were exchanging bombs trying to test each other's chin. I would say both were pretty even on the feet. However Andrei started landing body shots that buckled Tim. Tim however constantly threw out that long stiff jab at Arloski trying to keep him away. To counter this Arloski went for a take down and got it. On his back Tim Sylvia was like a fish out of water. Arloski started dropping bombs on him, rocked him then fell back for an ankle lock. Being that Tim was already rocked and submission defense not all that good to begin with, he was forced to tap.

Pedro Rizzo squared off against Josh Barnett in this classic fight. In the beginning Barnett was peppering Pedro with kicks and punches, he was just a combo machine. It was clear early on that Barnett was the quicker fighter. Pedro seemed to be off his game, to get back into the groove of things he took Barnett down for some ground & pound to soften him up. Barnett defended it well and kicked Rizzo off of him. Back to the feet Barnett tried his combo attack again, but the damage was already done from the ground & pound.

Barnett's combos was coming much slower now, didn't have the same snap to it in the beginning of the fight. Rizzzo was able to land a few clean powerful uppercuts. Then caught Barnett with a crashing right hook that sent Barnett crashing to the mat. Rizzo pounced on him landing some shots to the face before the ref pulled him of him. Rizzo by TKO victory.

Keith Jardine fought Chuck Liddell in a pretty good slugfest. Jardine was mixing up his strikes, hitting all three levels of the body. Chuck however for the most part was simply head hunting. Every once in a while Chuck would rip a punch to the body on a counter. The fight continued like this through out the first round.

In the corner Jardine told himself to stick with his plan of mixing up the strikes to throw Chuck off his game. Beginning of the second round this method of fighting proved fruitful for Jardine. A couple of times Jardine was able to catch Liddell with a head kick when Liddell thought a body kick was coming. One of these head kicks dropped Chuck Liddell. Jardine wasted no time to pound out the injured and rocked Chuck Liddell on the ground for a TKO victory.

Joachim Hansen & Hayato Sakurai squared off. Hayato try to turn the pressure on early on Joachim. However Joachim wasn't having none of that. Joachim was firing off leg kicks and head kicks. Hayato weathered the storm at first, but then he got too close to Joachim clinched him up. Joachim fired off a few knees to the body that seem to knock the wind out of Hayato. As Hayato was backing up and trying to keep from getting clinched again, he was hit by a vicious head kick that rocked and dropped him. Joachim finished him with a few more strikes for a TKO victory.

DS2

In the battle of legendary smashing machines, Dan Severn fought Don Frye. In the beginning it started off as a slugfest. Both men were landing heavy blows trying to test each other's chin. Dan however had other plans for the night and took Don down. While in side control Dan Severn landed some knees to the head and to the body of Don Frye, eventually rocking him. Dan thought about pounding him out but opted for the hammerlock submission instead, forcing Don Frye to tap.

Ninja

Ninja fought Nakamura in what Ninja thought would be a cake walk type of fight. Very quick he learned how good of a boxer Nakamura really was. For the most part Nakamura was getting the best of the stand up with stifling jabs to Ninja's face. Seeing he was on the losing end of the stand up battle, Ninja looked to take the fight to the ground. Ground match up was pretty even, Ninja attempted a hammerlock but Nakamura reversed it.

Out of fear of being caught in a submission himself, Ninja opted to go back to the stand up. There they continued to trade blows. However this time Ninja found a home for his uppercut and KO'ed Nakamura, sending him crashing to the ground like a sack of potatoes.

rampage

Classic Pride between Rampage and Chuck Liddell. Early on The Ice Man was getting the better of the exchanges. His reach advantage was working. At one point he sent Rampage crashing backwards on to his back. Liddell followed up with a vicious face stomp that rocked Rampage. Amazingly Rampage weathered the storm of punches Chuck was raining down on him and managed to get back up to his feet.

While on his feet Rampage took Chuck down & got into the full mount position. While in full mount Rampage dropped bombs on to Chuck's face. Chuck too managed to weather the storm and the fight was back to stand up. This time around Rampage was doing a much better job connecting with Chuck's face. A clean uppercut sent The Ice Man crashing to the mat. Chuck was on all fours when Rampage pounced on him, landing knees to the body and to the head. Didn't take too many knee shots before the ref stopped the fight and awarded Rampage the TKO victory.
